Grupalia

Growth Manager · 2026

Grupalia is building the neobank for microbusinesses in Latam, starting in Mexico. More than 30,000 customers and +$12M raised. It was founded by Roger Rea, a YC founder, great person and mentor.

The market

About half of adults in Mexico still don’t have a bank account. Most businesses in the country are microbusinesses: bakeries, corner stores, food stalls. They run the economy, and they still run on cash, with almost no access to credit or financial tools built for them.

Banks were never built for them. Opening an account takes paperwork they don’t have, and credit usually comes from informal lenders at brutal rates. That’s the gap Grupalia is closing: an account, payments and credit designed for a bakery owner, from a phone.

My role

I joined in January 2026 as a generalist. Today I lead growth and several AI-related initiatives.

Since I joined, Grupalia has grown almost 3x in 2026, with annualized revenue growing a lot along the way. Most of that came from very technical, startup style growth work: building our own tools, automating what used to be manual, and moving fast.

A normal week for me mixes paid acquisition, onboarding funnels, AI agents that talk to customers, and a lot of data. And I still spend part of my day in class.
